MJ Medical to advise on Grahame Park Estate’s healthcare centre
26-Oct-2016
MJ Medical announces its appointment as health planner for a new healthcare centre on the Grahame Park Estate, in the north London Borough of Barnet. MJ Medical was selected by Mae Architects, based on a well-established working relationship with the leading healthcare consultancy over the last few years.
The new Grahame Park health centre is part of Barnet Council’s regeneration and development plans for the area, which aims to transform the estate into a successful, family-friendly neighbourhood with mixed tenure homes, improved community facilities, better transport links and new road networks.
The new community health centre will offer a wide range of primary care services for the estate’s residents, including GP practices, a children’s mental health support unit, and nutrition and dietetic service departments. MJ Medical will work with the CCG, Barnet Council, NHS England and Genesis Housing Association to help define the centre’s clinical service offering and how it will be delivered. The leading healthcare consultancy will then translate the options into a design brief and support Mae Architects with the detailed design development.
“We’re excited to be part of such a significant regeneration project with strong and positive social ambitions for the community. With our experience and clinical knowledge, we look forward to helping create a state-of-the-art healthcare centre which contributes to a better quality of life for Grahame Park Estate residents.” says Nathaniel Hobbs, Director of MJ Medical.
Regeneration of the Grahame Park estate will see the construction of around 3,000 homes, along with shops, gardens and parks, and a community and health facilities. This follows a recent trend among residential estates around the UK to include health centres and other community services as a key part of their development.
