Dan’s key strength lies in understanding and navigating the complex journey from developing a considered model of care to determining the design which will best facilitate the delivery of that model.

Dan is a passionate advocate of an evidence-based approach to healthcare facility design. He has a focus on enabling healthcare systems and buildings to respond to emerging trends in clinical best practice and medical technologies.

Brian’s extensive global experience in health planning spans more than 35 years. Over that time he has worked on a multitude of healthcare facility development projects across a diverse range of socio-economic environments.

Brian’s strength lies in incorporating his detailed understanding of how clinicians use healthcare spaces, and how patients experience them, into the very early stages of vision shaping and design brief development.

Kieren is an accomplished designer and innovator, responsible for many award-winning projects in the healthcare facility design sector. Combining practice with teaching, research and design advisory roles he has spent over 25 years creating advanced environments for the delivery of health services across the whole health system.

He has taught at the top rated Welsh School of Architecture for over 12 years, and was a Design Review Panel Member for both the Design Commission for Wales and the NHS Estates in England for over 10 years.

Nathaniel’s expertise includes health strategy, international development, health economics and procurement. He has a detailed knowledge of international development and healthcare policy and trends.

In addition he has extensive experience and an in-depth understanding of infrastructure development and procurement methods for healthcare projects. Through his project experience he has excellent analytical, mediation, negotiation and partnership development skills.

With over twenty years’ experience within healthcare projects, Jill has been involved in the clinical planning of several multi-million pound hospital projects.

She has experience ranging from clinical design briefing, schedule of accommodation development and business case writing through to the operational commissioning of hospitals. Jill has developed a particular interest in clinical buildability and future flexibility within the briefing process.

Andrew has successfully managed some of our most complex procurement contracts, from coordinating the activities of design, construction and supplier teams on super-acute hospital projects, to managing the delivery and installation of equipment to rural primary-care clinics in conflict zone countries.

With a broad insight into the latest medical technologies and strong negotiation skills, he consistently achieves best value for money outcomes for our clients.

Kate’s areas of expertise include briefing and business case development, operational policy development, equipment planning, and operational commissioning of healthcare facilities.

Kate has a keen eye for detail, particularly during the design and commissioning process. Kate seeks to achieve design excellence, cost certainty and predictability of project delivery throughout the project lifecycle, providing strong leadership to realise the vision objectives in the completed facility.

Simon is a registered healthcare practitioner and biomedical scientist with more than 20 years of operational experience in pathology.

Simon has led numerous laboratory capital development projects, working with clinicians and scientists to modernise pathology service configurations.  improve quality outcomes.

Jamie has 25 years of hospital design experience. He is adept at leading  major projects from initial concept through to completion.

Jamie has a particular focus on design quality and innovation, and is currently undertaking his PhD in healthcare architecture at the Welsh School of Architecture. He is a panellist and co-chair of design review at the Design Commission for Wales.

Nicki leads our operations and people and culture  function, providing advice and support across the wider team.

She also leads the management of our Integrated Management System, coordinating internal and external audits throughout the year to ensure we maintain our environmental, health and safety and quality ISO standards.

As commercial management and knowledge, research and development assistant, Nicola helps ensure our service delivery is in-line with programme, quality and budget requirements.

She supports the identification and management of risks and issues, and coordinates the allocation of team resources. In addition, Nicola is the lead coordinator of  MJ Medical’s knowledge, research and development programme and digital reference library.

Joey’s experience working as the medical equipment co-ordinator for a major regional acute hospital gives him a wealth of knowledge in specifying and managing all kinds of medical equipment in a live multi-site clinical setting.

He combines this with exceptional skills in data analytics and management. He has the ability to analyse complex and extensive datasets, identifying trends in equipment utilisation, cost, and design impact and making him a key part of our equipment and technology planning team.

Peter has spent more than 30 years as a strategic hospital planner and operational manager. With hands-on experience in managing major hospitals, Peter offers insight into the operational challenges of healthcare facilities.

He brings extensive experience in the preparation of business cases, operational commissioning and transfer facilitation.

Debbie has over 18yrs working in finance for the healthcare sector .

Debbie oversees all aspects of the company’s financial systems. Her analytical skills enable her to support the commercial management team with insight and analysis in regards to project performance.

As finance assistant, Julie  brings  vast experience from several sectors in support of our finance function.

She assists with the day-to-day management of our finance processes and systems.

With a broad knowledge and experience of coordinating the delivery of healthcare planning, design and equipment procurement projects, Simon has a comprehensive understanding of the journey from determining the demand for healthcare to delivering its supply.

With excellent technical knowledge and a strong background in project management, he is accomplished at bringing together a multitude of stakeholders to deliver complex programmes of healthcare facility design and development work.

Hannah is an experienced healthcare analyst with extensive skills in modelling and data analysis. Her strengths lie in bringing structure to business problems, using analytical techniques to improve business decisions and communicating solutions effectively.

She is able to model the relationship between demand for healthcare and its supply, producing dynamic profiles that respond to different care model options and epidemiological and demographic variables.

In her role as healthcare planner, Gemma has 20 years experience working closely with NHS Trusts, construction contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams, in the development of numerous major healthcare facility projects.

She is experienced in effectively communicating technical design information to a wide array of project stakeholders, and has an in-depth knowledge of healthcare design standards from all around the world. Gemma is a key contributor to our research programme, and combines a comprehensive knowledge of equipment technologies with a macro understanding of how effective healthcare buildings deliver care.

Matt has over 15 years’ experience as a CIPS qualified procurement consultant, successfully managing the equipment procurement process for numerous major hospital development projects.

Matt is adept at getting the best technical and commercial outcomes through his relationship building and negotiation approach, and brings an enhanced level of strategic analysis in his identification of the most suitable procurement options for any given project.

Rose has highly developed skills in the delivery of technical aspects of procurement projects, and leads the coordination and delivery of procurement management services.

She ensures quality standards are upheld by utilising the bespoke tools, processes, and methodologies  implement complex procurement projects. Rose is highly adept at identifying and managing risks and issues that may affect successful and timely project delivery.

A qualified mechanical engineer with 30 years’ specialist experience, Martyn has a long track record of coordinating the procurement and commissioning of major medical equipment on numerous large-scale healthcare projects.

His ability to develop quality logistic strategies for complex projects, coupled with his knowledge of the mechanical and electrical intricacies of medical equipment, make him a valuable lead on any on-site installation.

With more than a decade of architectural experience, Priit takes our healthcare projects from feasibility studies and concept designs to technical detailing and delivery.

Having worked through the RIBA stages, he seamlessly navigates tasks and information required. With a creative approach, he continually provides innovative solutions when technical challenges arise.

With over 20 years’ experience delivering multiple successful healthcare capital developments, Patrick has advanced specialist knowledge across a range of disciplines including clinical planning, technical design, and equipment planning and procurement.

His track record includes the management of numerous complex and high profile projects, such as the NHS Nightingale North West Hospital, collaborating with multiple and varied stakeholder groups, and delivering high-quality outcomes against challenging time-scales.

Having graduated from Cardiff University in 2006, James went on to work for national and international award winning practices, gaining experience in a variety of sectors.  After renovating his first house in 2008 he was commissioned for a number of bespoke residential and commercial projects eventually leading to create a practice of his own.  The focus is both on creative design and excellent project delivery.

James believes in responding to the individual requirements of clients and site with a clarity of concept focussed on space, light, materiality, attention to detail, and the often overlooked budget!  The aim is for an understated architectural solution that feels ‘natural’ rather than something of conflict with its surroundings.

Kim has over 40 years’ experience as a bio-medical engineer, working on all different types of healthcare facility development projects in over 80 countries around the world.

Kim is highly skilled at understanding the complex interface between a healthcare building and the key medical equipment, and helps to significantly reduce design and construction risk by coordinating information and activity exchange between the design team, equipment supplier, construction contractor, and healthcare operator.

A registered clinician and hospital operational manager, Iona has a proven track record of delivering large-scale healthcare facilities.

Iona has strong experience in operational readiness, ensuring hospitals can deliver healthcare safely and effectively from day one.

From the delivery of major regional cardiac centres to the development of the first healthcare buildings from the New Hospitals Programme, she is a confident and experienced team leader.

Iona is passionate about delivering efficiency in healthcare operations through effective design and collaboration.

Temi’s impressive project experience spans large-scale residential, retail, social housing, multi-use and healthcare buildings.

He has a proven track record of successfully managing projects from inception to completion whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

As one of our architectural assistants, Temi supports our team in delivering flexible and efficient designs for our clients.

John is an industry heavy weight, having managed a multitude of large and complex procurement projects within UK and international markets.

Working for the NHS, he developed national procurement strategies and targets and negotiated large-scale commercial contracts. John brings nearly 40 years’ experience to MJ Medical, providing clients with leading procurement strategies.

Jennifer has 20 years’ experience managing marketing and communications across a wide range of sectors including finance, media, business-to-business and not-for-profit.

As our marketing manager, she oversees the MJ Medical brand and our marketing and content strategy.

Katelyn joined MJ Medical after completing her BSc Business degree at the University of Exeter.

She is undertaking our graduate healthcare planning course and will complete 8 units covering healthcare provision, planning the project, project briefing, designing healthcare buildings, stakeholder engagement, procurement of construction, equipment planning and project management, whilst working alongside consultants on live projects gaining practical experience and technical knowledge.

With more than 20 years’ experience across a wide-range of healthcare facility development projects, Tim is an equipment planning consultant and our BIM lead.

He is highly experienced in developing room by room equipment schedules, MEP equipment installation data and drawings, and equipment loaded room layout drawings. Tim has extensive experience of using a number of equipment planning, design, and data management platforms including ADB, Codebook Attainia, dRofus, and Revit, and is primary contributor to our technology futures research programme.

Annase has worked on multiple healthcare projects around the world, including many major acute and tertiary facilities.

Her experience includes spatial planning in clinical settings, research on particular theory and articulation in concept design, production of feasibility studies, and indoor and thermal comfort of patients concerning façade designs. She is passionate about design and creating outstanding healthcare architecture.
